These two habits will change your life

God wants His people to be holy.

1 Thessalonians 4:3
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;

Leviticus 11:45
45 For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

The action of holiness comes from our habits.

King David had a habit of holiness. He had a habit of worshipping God. He had the desire to be holy and give God holy worship. He had a holy lifestyle.

Good habits make you very successful. Bad habits can cause you to be a failure. The church is a place to train yourself to have good habits, the habits of worship and holiness and studying the Word of God.

Train your children to have good habits. What habits? Going to church. Worshipping God. Working hard. Respecting and obeying their elders and parents. Giving tithes and offerings. Studying the Bible. Putting others before self. Honoring the Word of God.

After we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we must fight the good fight to have godly, holy habits. The problem is the church has stopped preaching the message of holiness so people receive Jesus and then stay the way they are, with their sinful habits.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus will come from those who are holy and pure. God also said that He would be with Israel. In the wilderness, God dwelt in the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle.

If we don’t have these two habits, we will have a difficult time overcome this world and ourselves. Without these two habits, our life is nothing.

Two habits that will change your life:
1. Memorizing, studying, and meditating on the Word of God
2. Worshipping God and spending time in His presence

God told Joshua the key to have good success.

Joshua 1:8
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

We must train ourselves to meditate on the Word of God.
When you study the Word of God, you will want to worship God.

God created us to worship Him. Those who acknowledge God must worship God. God wants us to praise Him. He wants to walk with us and live with us. God didn’t create us to live apart from Him. He created us to live with Him. He wants us to worship, glorify, and praise Him.

If you don’t worship God, you lose meaning in your life. The meaning of your life is to know God, to walk with Him, to worship Him. If you don’t do those things, you life is nothing.

If you spend your time in the Word of God and in the presence of God, you will have a very successful life. God meets those who have the desire to be in His presence. He will use them.

Why don’t people spend time in His presence? They aren’t hungry. When you are hungry, you will seek to be fed. When you are hungry for God, you will seek His presence and spiritual food (His Word).

When you are hungry for God, He will give you the best food. Those who live a holy life have the desire to be in the presence of God. They always consider other people and their needs and want to make their lives comfortable. They are peacemakers. Those who have holy habits see the beauty of God. They see the beauty of God in others.

Those who are full only think about themselves. They don’t think about the needs of others. They are troublemakers, unsatisfied, and depressed. They are critical and argumentative. They are selfish and self-righteous.

The church needs to go back to preaching a message of repentance, of holiness.

Be like King David. He had hunger to be in the presence of God. King David longed for the presence of God.

Psalm 27:4
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.

Train yourself to long for the presence of God. Teach your children to long for the presence of God. Teach your children to make holiness a habit. Train yourself so that holiness is a habit. Train yourself so that worshipping God and seeking His face is a habit. Train yourself so that meditating on the Word of God is a habit.

God bless you,
