Revelation chapter 16, part 6

Revelation 14:18

18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.”

Angels have charge over different areas. This angel is in charge of fire.

Some angels are in charge of people. Psalm 91 talks about the angels that have been given charge over people. Some people have more angels to watch over them than others. If you serve God powerfully, He gives more angels to take charge over your life, to watch you and help you.

The book of Daniel talks about angels who are sent to fight battles for you. There are angels watching over you all of the time. When you think that you are alone, you are not really alone. God’s angels are watching over you.

The angel in Revelation 7:1 is the angel who is in charge of the wind.

Revelation 16:5-6

5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are righteous, O Lord,
The One who is and who was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
And You have given them blood to drink.
For it is their just due.”

This is the angel that is in charge of the waters.

Even the angels want to see justice and judgment. They are crying out for judgment on those who shed innocent blood. Blood is life. That is why God commands us not to eat or drink blood. Blood cries out to God.

The antichrist, false prophet, and those who have the mark of the beast are the ones who caused the blood of the children of God to be shed. They were thirsty for blood and killed many righteous people. So God will give them blood to drink.

We must be careful what we ask for. Sometimes God will give us what we want, but we will pay the price for it. The children of Israel wanted a king like all the other nations had. God allowed them to have a king, but they paid the price because some of their kings were evil and oppressed the people. They lost their freedom, their lands, and their money over to their king. God warned them that they should not have a king, but they wanted to be like others. They wanted to be like everyone else. We make this same mistake when we want to be like people around us who are not following God. God commands us to avoid certain things or people for our own benefit, to save us from harm and pain. When we choose our own way, then we will struggle and suffer.

God bless you!

  1. It is so very true that we must be careful of what we ask for! We have to trust that the Lord KNOWS the outcome and the details we are not aware of!

  2. Isn’t it interesting that the nation of Israel actually asked for a king. They didn’t want to remain in the type of “government” that they had at the time. At that time, they had to go to the prophet of God and basically “inquire” directly from the Lord to make decisions… obviously, they didn’t like this strict adherence to holiness.

  3. It is true that we lose our way when we are drawn to those around us that are not choosing the Lord.
