Pastor Sun East’s scripture of the week

SeaSalt w_scripture

Jesus called us, His disciples, the salt of the earth. Salt is the most common and easily accessible commodity on earth. It is also one of the most treasured.

Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

Jesus has called us to be salt to those around us. What does that mean? We must protect and preserve others through prayer. We must bring life to those around us. Always look for opportunities to be a blessing to your family, your coworkers, your congregation, and your leaders. Encourage them to serve God. Help them increase their gifts, talents, and ministries.

When you see those who are broken, hurting, desperate, lonely, or lost, pray for them. Be a friend to them. Be a help to them. Pray for God to soften hard hearts and bring healing to those in need.

You are the salt of the earth.

God bless you,
Pastor Sun Hui East

  1. I know that I truly want to be the “salt if the earth”. I want to serve God & I want my life to stand for something, not just drift away with time… Lord, help me soften my heart, change my thinking & bless your name. (wonderful passage for this week Pastor Sun Hui East!)

  2. I googled this passage early this morning & came across this blog. I can’t believe that I’ve never heard of you Pastor Sun Hui East, as your teachings are so powerful! I sat still this morning and read most of your messages (getting ministered to the whole time)… thank you so much for your time & energy into the kingdom, you have a big fan in me!

  3. I like this Scripture Pastor Sun Hui East. I’ve been reading something from your blog almost every day now. I even told the person that sits next to me at work to take a look at it (he has just started going to church, I think because he is hurting from his divorce this year).

  4. I think I lost interest in God a few years ago when my wife died. The pain was more than I could handle and I didn’t want to let go of my anger towards Him. My attitude has slowly been changing and I feel much better. If I had chosen to stay on that same path, I think bitterness could have destroyed my soul and my health. Thank you for the type of teaching you provide Pastor Sun Hui East, my wife actually loved your writing and had several of your books. She always wanted me to take the same interest in God that she had.

  5. My friend saw one of your movies and told me to look you up Pastor Sun Hui East. I like this blog and can see that you are a Godly woman. That makes me happy because I truly feel that women need to take a stronger role in the churches today, in teaching and in leadership. I know that there are many “religious” voices in the American church trying to say that women shouldn’t be in those positions, but I disagree and think that God has called EVERY one of us! It IS a dark time we live in & women need to stand up!

  6. I agree with the interpretation of this passage of Scripture. Great words, thank you Pastor Sun Hui East.
