Forgiveness is Stable

Forgiveness has so much power. God didn’t give us the choice to forgive others; forgiveness is God’s commandment.

What is forgiveness? What is God’s kind of forgiveness?

The most important commandment is love. To love God and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

This is Jesus talking – His teaching. Jesus told His disciples to love one another.

John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

When the love of God manifests through His disciples, this world will know that we belong to God. How much we love others tells us how deep our relationship with Jesus is.

Jesus’ love overcomes emotions. A lot of people love others by their feelings and emotions. Jesus’ love overcomes emotions and feelings. We must overcome emotions in order to have a stable relationship with God.

When you love Jesus with your feelings, your relationship with God and with the church will be up and down and up and down. When you have a yo-yo relationship with God, there are times when you love the church so much that you would do anything for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Then there are times, when your feelings get hurt, that they roll their eyes and attack and get angry at your brothers and sisters.

But God’s love doesn’t change. When you commit to God and serve Him by your faith and not by your emotions, you will love others all the time. You will be stable.

Emotions are unstable and double-minded.

Show the love of God through your actions and your lifestyle. Be stable. Be consistent. Take care of others consistently. Help others consistently. Pray for others consistently.

God bless you,
