Put on the New Man, part 1

We need to let our old way of thinking and doing things go. Accept the new things that come into your life. Not new ungodly things, but new ways of making God look good and giving God glory. Do not accept something new if it causes people to stumble or turn away from God. Accept new things that help people grow spiritually and build the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 4:22-24

22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

The only way that we can be renewed in our spirit is through the Word of God. How do you renew your mind and hear? Only through the Word of God. Only through the Spirit of God. There is no other way to renew your mind and heart. Only through the Spirit of God – prayer, fasting, and studying the Word of God. We need to renew our minds every day. We need to pray and study every day. We need to fast. Fast this world every day.

Fasting is not just food. We need to fast certain things in this world. The things that do not glory God and cause people to stumble, those things need to be fasted every day. Do not accept those things.

Renew your spirit. How? Through studying the Word of God, through prayer, and through fasting. Don’t think about old things. Do not be in bondage to old things. Even in the church, we need to accept new things from God. We need to build God’s kingdom through new things. God will bring new things – that’s what His Word says.

That amazing new thing could be making a movie or using TV ministry. When Jesus was here on the earth He didn’t use movies to save people. This is a new thing. We must accept it and go with it if it is a benefit to the kingdom of God. Give your energy and strength to this new ministry. Pray for wisdom from the Holy Spirit so that you can move in this new ministry. Study the Word of God so that he Holy Spirit can remain in you and overflow through you.

God bless you!

  1. I learned, way back, that the Lord teaches, most often, through His WORD. It is the Bible that He really loves us and trains us through.
