Revelation chapter 14, part 6

Revelation 14:8 says “And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.””

Why does God compare judgment with wine? Wine causes people to lose their wisdom and discernment. It wraps chains around their minds and hearts. Drunkenness causes humiliation, complacency, disorder, and confusion. Alcohol causes accidents and hurts people. Drunkenness causes disease, strife, and fighting. For these reasons, the children of God should not drink.

Revelation 14:9-12 tells us that all idol worshippers will be judged by God. All who receive the mark of the beast will be judged by God. This is really going to happen. Don’t take the mark of the beast if you are left behind for the time of the tribulation. Watch out for these things; they will happen. The third angel preaches that whoever has the mark of the beast will go to the lake of fire.

Luke 16:19-31, Luke 12:5, and Revelation 20:14 tell us about Hades, or hell, which is a waiting place. All of those who are in hell will eventually be sent to the lake of fire.

The torture of hell never stops; therefore, keep your heart clean and pure. Do not fear man, but fear God.

Teach your children the Word of God. Give them living water and the bread of life. The material things that you provide for them will eventually pass away, but the Word of God will never return void in their lives. The Word of God is the most important thing that you can give to your children. When you give them the Word of God, you give them an everlasting gift.

We should not analyze or think that this is not true. Heaven and hell are true. You must believe the Word of God. You do not have to believe what anyone says, but what is written in the Bible.

God bless you!

  2. Knowing that an afterlife of pain and suffering awaits us if we choose our own way is QUITE a deterrent … I’m going to choose to believe!

  3. If we don’t follow this instruction & teach our children about God, we will pay the price in their rebellion as the years pass. At first it will seem that they are rebelling against us personally, but as they go into their adult years, it becomes obvious that they are actually rebelling against God Himself. (we need to be wise when they are young so we don’t have to carry that type of guilt)

  4. I know that a lot of people, both Christians and non-Christians struggle with believing in the reality of hell. To me, if there is a .000000000001% chance that there IS a hell, then it’s NOT worth messing with the chance of winding up there!

  5. I’ve been a “social drinker” since I was young, never having any conviction about it. I also would never attend a church that I thought would disagree with me. HOWEVER; This was the best teaching I’ve ever heard about why Christians shouldn’t drink… Pastor Sun Hui East… you have me thinking!

  6. Great post Pastor Sun Hui East! We miss you in Colorado. Tell the whole church hello from me and my family!
