Revelation chapter 14, part 5

In Revelation 14:8-20, the angel preached that Babylon, the nation which dishonored and came against God, would fall. Those who come against God will fall sooner or later. Everyone who has tried to defeat God, for the last 6,000 years, has failed. Through all persecution, the church of God grows stronger. When the church is steadfast for Jesus, something good will happen. You may feel like you are losing at first, but you will always win when you are steadfast for Jesus.

God’s judgment came against Babylon when the king came against God and defiled His holy vessels. When the army of Media and Persia surrounded the castle of the king of Babylon, the king commanded that the holy vessels from Solomon’s Temple be brought to a great feast. The king’s predecessors knew that they should not touch these vessels, so they put them to the side and stored them. But this king was totally drunk and told his servants to bring the holy vessels to his feast, so that they may use them. They mocked God and compared Him to their idols. During the feast, a hand appeared and wrote on the wall. (Daniel 5:1-7)

The king became very frightened, but the wife of King Nebuchadnezzar remembered that Daniel could interpret messages from God. She reminded King Belshazzar and they called for Daniel to come and interpret the message. (Daniel 5:25)

“Mene” = God is done with this generation; He is done with your nonsense
“Tekel” = God has put you on the scale but you are not enough
“Upharsin” = The kingdom of Media and Persia will take over your kingdom

Coming against God is the same as spiritual fornication and immorality. Spiritual fornication is corruption. Rebellion is idolatry. (1 Samuel 15:22-23) Every scripture speaks the same message. Idolatry, disobedience, rebellion, all these things are witchcraft.

The king promised a reward to Daniel so he gave him the promised reward, but Daniel was not interested in these things. He was only interested in serving God. He spoke the truth to the king and although he went through times of persecution, Daniel was faithful to God and God delivered him out of every trial.

Every time that you are attacked by Satan, instead of pulling back, we must do more for God. Give more to God. Serve God more. We need to pray for the persecuted church in this world. We need to pray for those who travel and preach the gospel. We need to pray for those who are dying without Jesus. We need to pray for God to raise up many more preachers and evangelists.

God bless you!

  1. I really like this encouragement not to pull back when we are attacked by Satan. Our natural inclination is to allow the pain to send us into some type of self-protection mode. We lose our confidence at these times and feel that people are against us. We need to know that it is really only Satan that is our enemy (people are used by him, but if they know the Lord, they can become friends). Thanks for remeinding me of this Pastor Sun Hui East, I like your blog

  2. I know that during the course of my life, I have come against the Lord in my selfish behavior. I truly regret that and am so grateful for His forgiveness. Praise Him for pastors like you Sun East, that teach these truths.

  3. I like this teaching about not pulling away after we are attacked by Satan. It is our natural reaction to go into a “shell” and allow the pain to separate us from the world. It is actually at this point that we should rise up! Thank you for the encouragement Pastor Sun Hui East.
