Pastor Sun East encourages, “Come to Bethesda”

John 5:1-9 tells about a pool called Bethesda. From time to time, an angel would come and stir up the water  and whoever entered first would be healed. There was a man who had been waiting for his chance at healing for a long time. He knew he didn’t want to miss his chance.

After this man met Jesus, his life was changed. He was healed. When you meet God, everything changes. We need to have the desire, like this man, to be touched by the Holy Spirit and have our lives changed. When you have a chance, don’t miss it.

The Holy Spirit will come to those who seek and wait on God, to those who obey God, to those who give up themselves, to those who believe and trust God and His promises, and to those who faithfully pray.

God has promised everyone something. Hold on to that promise. There are 32,500 promises in the Bible. They are yours if you believe. Believe that He is real. Believe that His grace and His love will fulfill His promises in your life. His grace is sufficient for you.

The Holy Spirit came to His people is Acts 2:1-5. They were faithfully praying and seeking God’s face. Sometimes your chance comes only once in a lifetime. God spoke to 500 disciples and told them to stay in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came. Only 120 stayed. Why? The others got discouraged by the situation in Jerusalem, by what they saw and felt. They couldn’t wait. But those who waited and prayed and did not look at their circumstances received the power of the Holy Spirit 10 days later. The Holy Spirit came as fire and filled them with power and anointing to do His work.

Do not miss your chance because you are looking at your circumstances. The man at the pool of Bethesda had a strong desire for God. He did not give up on his dream or hope even though he didn’t see how his healing could come. He did not focus on His circumstances.

Be encouraged–God has a great plan in your life. Believe. The Holy Spirit wants to stir up your heart.

God bless you!
