Pastor Sun encourages, “Humble Yourself”.

Daniel was a man of love and compassion. Even though he was a foreigner, he prayed for his leaders. He loved them and gave them respect and comfort. When King Nebuchadnezzar asked Daniel to interpret his dream, Daniel tried to comfort him, knowing that the interpretation was not good.

King Nebuchadnezzar told Daniel his dream in Daniel 4:10-17. According to King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, he would live like a beast. Why? Because of his pride, he did not have compassion for those in need. He was an evil and wicked king.

If we refuse to humble ourselves, God will humble us. We must always have a willing heart to learn from others (rather than criticize them). We all have something to offer and we all have something to learn.

If we put ourselves in a high place and condemn and judge others, a beast spirit will take over us. High pride is a great open door. The statement that King Nebuchadnezzar made is just like the one that Lucifer made in Isaiah 14:13-14. When he said this, Lucifer was kicked out of heaven. When the king said this, he became mental. A beast spirit took over his human mind and heart.

God has given us power and authority to put Satan under our feet. We should not be afraid, but we must be aware that this kind of thing still happens, even this day. We must be aware so that we are able to help those who are being tormented by demons. The church must walk in the authority that God has given us. How? The church must be separate from this world. The church must totally love and obey God and His Word, living a pure and holy life.

In Matthew 3:2, the word “repent” means change your direction. This means that if you are living in sin, you stop and turn away from that sin. If your heart is filled with Jesus, you will live like Him. You will see things the way that He does. If your heart is filled with bitterness and anger, you will see others as being the same way. We must guard our hearts against sin (as it says in Proverbs 4:23).

In Daniel 4:33-37, we read that King Nebuchadnezzar finally humbled himself before God. He acknowledged that he was not great, but that God is great. When he did this, his human mind and heart returned to him and he was restored to his position.

King Nebuchadnezzar became the king that God wanted him to be. If you want to be the person that God wants you to be, then you must humble yourself before God. Let every evil thought go. Let bitterness and anger go. Let a critical heart go. Let your past go. God delivered you from your past. Don’t go back.

God bless you,
Pastor Sun Hui East

  1. Wow, this post was intense… I didn’t realize that all of that behavior is demonic. That actually makes a lot of sense and gives answers where there aren’t any other answers! I’m going to go back and read the book of Daniel tonight. As I read this post, I started having memory flashes of my great aunt, and some really weird behavior that would go on in her house. My parents would always try to explain it away, but it was scary & unexplainable, even though I was very young during the worst of it. And funny that you should mention “pride & criticism” Pastor Sun Hui East, because my Aunt was so very critical and condemning of others! Thanks for the “eye-opener” today, I guess there is a lot more demonic activity in this world than I had imagined!

  2. I also have had some very strange experiences that I believe we’re spiritual. Thank you for discussing this difficult topic Pastor Sun Hui East, this post brought a lot of clarity, not only about the meaning of that passage in Daniel, but also about spiritual consequenses of our pride.

  3. I just read through some of your other post on this blog, very interesting type of teaching. Deep. Thank you Pasor Sun Hui East for talking about things that most pastors want to avoid.

  4. That particular story from the book of Daniel has always bothered me, I think because I never understood it. This blog made it very clear & I appreciate that. I can see, by the comments, that other readers are impacted by the demonic part of this story… I didn’t have any issue with that as I have seen plenty of what Satan’s demons can do to people. I actually have believed, for a long time, that most of what our modern society calls (and medicates) as mental illness, is infact, demonic influence in a person’s life. How else can we explain the inhuman, bloodthirsty acts that take place daily in our world?

  5. Truly scary, we need to remember to guard our heart with all diligence! Pride is such a sneaky sin, and our God knows how to humble the proud.
Thank you for the teaching Pastor Sun East

  6. Here was a man that had it all, except true knowledge of the one true Living God. When he gave glory to God his mind came back. Powerful teaching.

  7. I have several children and am always concerned about evil influence in their lives. My husband doesn’t “buy into” the spiritual world, so we are constantly at odds as we teach the kids from God’s Word. Pastor Sun Hui East, please pray for my husband to open his spiritual eyes!

  8. I spent several years as an undercover police officer, and during that time, I saw a lot of things that now I realize we’re demonic. Unless someone is going to a church with a very bold pastor, they are really never going to learn about the spiritual realm. I was not a believer during those years, however, I know that the crazy (demonic) things that I saw prepared me to acknowledge the truth of Jesus that later changed my life. ( for the record, the “beast” demon referred to in this passage was something that I witnessed personally, more than once as we arrested & detained drug-users)

  9. I was subjecting myself to electro-shock therapy, at one point in my life, to try to bring relief to my psyche. I was experiencing overwhelming anxiety & fear in minor situations and needed help. At the time, I was unsure of the cause, but always suspicious that my problems were 100% spiritual. It wasn’t until I went through some deliverance, that I got any type of relief …
