Have a Divine Meeting, Pastor Sun East Encourages

When Moses went to the mountain and met with God, he had a divine, revelation meeting. We need to have this kind of meeting with God, too. When you have a divine meeting with God, your life will change.

The book of Matthew tells us that when two or more come together in Jesus’ name, that Jesus is in the midst of them. This is a divine meeting.

You might wonder why you have been in church for a long time but still don’t see any change in your life. You might wonder why you struggle so much with sin, with selfishness, with yourself. You need to have a divine, revelation meeting with Jesus.

Jesus had many disciples and all of them saw the miracles that He performed. They all heard His teachings. They all walked with Him, talked with Him, learned from Him. But one of them betrayed Him. How could that happen? Judas, the betrayer, never had a divine encounter with Jesus. He was too busy analyzing the things that Jesus did, believing that he could do a better job. He was filled with his own dreams and ambition and never laid down his dreams for the dreams that Jesus had for him.

In Matthew 17:1-8, Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the mountain to have a divine meeting with them. Why was this such a powerful meeting? First, Jesus was the center of this meeting.

Sometimes we have meetings with others that are filled with jealousy, envy, strife, arguments, etc… Why? Because Jesus is not at the center of that meeting. Flesh will always try to rule over our meetings, but we must put Jesus at the center.

Your flesh will always try to tell you how good you are. When you hear that voice start talking to you, you must remember that there is nothing good in the flesh. Jesus makes us good. When you have a divine meeting with Jesus, you realize that he is AWESOME and that compared to him, you’re really not all that great.

Second, Jesus’ meeting on the mountain was powerful because of prayer. Jesus took care of every situation by prayer. Prayer is our connection with God. Through prayer, we receive direction from God and power to overcome our flesh and the temptations of this world.

Don’t allow yourself to get distracted by whatever is going on in your life. Your prayer life should not change because of your situation. Prayer is what brings change.

If Jesus brought every situation to God in prayer, then how can we not? How can we think that we don’t need to? If you are going to bring change to your life, to your family, to your church, or to your nation, it will be through a divine meeting with Jesus. How? Make Jesus the center of your life and pray.

God bless you!

  1. Pastor Sun East, I’m realizing more and more that prayer is the anchor that keeps us from drifting from the will, obedience, and understanding of God. Thank you for the good word!

  2. I am defininately the person you are talking about Pastor Sun Hui East, who feels like I don’t see much change in myself (even after years of church). Inside, I know the truth, I know that I don’t give all my strength and love to God… He often has allowed me to walk through pain to turn to Him in a passionate way. I truly want to be different… to reach for HIm even when things are easy!

  3. When I read the Bible, I often wonder why the diciples had such weak faith despite all they had seen (all the miracles, all the deliverance – I know if I saw a demon leave a possessed person I’d “be changed forever”) It’s easy to judge them though. It’s easy because I can see all the way until now, 2000 years later! (I struggle with faith myself sometimes and it bothers me!) Thanks for the powereful words Pastor Sun Hui East!

  4. My oldest son, who is only 13, thinks that he has been called to be a pastor. He tells me that he has had a “divine meeting” with the Lord and that it is very clear to Him that he is to be separate/different from this world. I am so proud of him, but I know he needs a whole lot of prayer to stay on this track with Jesus! Pastor Sun Hui East, I know you truly care for young people and are always encouraging them to listen for God’s call… would you please pray for my son? (his name is Carter) Thank you! My family loves and supports you in all you do!

  5. I want to have an intense experience with God! I think, because of abuse during my childhood, I have looked for that intensity in relationship with men. (I don’t like to admit that, but it is true) I’m beginning to understand, because of the teaching of Pastor Sun Hui East, that I can have freedom and go after God instead. I’m SO much happier these days! (I’ve been reading two of your teaching/ Bible study books and they are truly helping me!)

  6. The truth is that I struggle with anger and bitterness, almost as though I enjoy it. (sad/ scary) I want to have an encounter with God, I know that the Bible teaches that an encounter with God brings repentance and change (gives us the understanding of why we should hate our sin, instead of craving it). Pastor Sun Hui East, can you and your staff at Strong Foundation Films, please pray for me? Thank you

  7. It IS true that my flesh wants always to tell me that I am “great”and have worked so very hard to earn what I am and what I have; however, I know that only in Christ do I have any worth. HE has been the one that not only redeemed me, but set me free from a sinful, empty past. (Lord, keep me humble and quiet in You)

  8. I love the passage about Jesus having the divine meeting…thank you for the reminder Pastor Sun Hui East!

  9. I’ve been very happy to read this blog for a couple weeks now. My family has enjoyed the movies that you have produced and we wanted more of your direct teaching. I have my teen age daughter reading your books and appreciat your influence in her life Pastor Sun Hui East!
