Pastor Sun East says “God Uses Little Things”

You may think that you are small and insignificant, but be encouraged. God uses little things.

In Revelation 3:7-8, God told the Philadelphia church that even though they had just a little strength, He had set before them an open door. God used the Philadelphia church to build His kingdom because they were obedient to Him. They were faithful to Him.

God has given us authority and power. We just need to ask God to use us for His honor and glory. Then, when God opens a door, know that no one can shut that door. When God sees your willing and obedient heart, he will open many doors for you.

In Revelation 3:10-12, God commands us to be faithful until death. If you aren’t faithful to God and you compromise with His commandments, God sees that as spiritual adultery. The book of Revelation says over and over again, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear…” When God speaks something to us, we must listen to what He is saying and take heed.

Many times we do not “hear” the message of God because we want to continue to live our own way and do things our own way. We think that if we obey God and give up the sin that we enjoy so much, we will be losing too much. What we must understand is that when we give up sin and bondage, we will find so much for us in God. The things of God are much better than the things of the flesh and this world.

But maybe you have been living in sin. Maybe you have been living in your flesh and making wrong choices. Do you feel that you are unqualified to serve God? That God cannot possibly use you now? When you see yourself as very small and weak, that is when God wants to use you. All you need to do is repent for your sin, turn away from it, and run to God.

Don’t give up on the dream that you had when you were young. Don’t give up on the dream that God has put into your heart. Don’t give up your ministry for anything. Even if you have sinned and feel like you aren’t worthy to serve God, you haven’t lost anything. God has not changed His mind. He still wants to use you. Repent and run back to Him.

Luke 12:32 says, “Do not fear, little flock”. God is not looking for someone who is highly educated, good looking, has a successful career, or who has never messed up. Even though you feel small, open wide, just like it says in Psalm 81:10. Have a big vision. Open your mouth for God. Preach the Gospel. Speak out in faith about what God has done and what He is going to do in your life.

Philippians 4:13 tells us that we can do ALL things through CHRIST. It is when we try to do things in our own strength and understanding that we get burnt out or fail. We must do the work of God (rather than building our own kingdom) and we must do it the way God has commanded (rather than our own way). Then we will have success in the Lord.

Job 8:7 shows us that even if our beginning is small, if we open wide, we will have a big ending. How? By crucifying our flesh. Every time that we give up our flesh by doing something for others, by serving others, by reading the Word, by praying from our hearts, and by serving God, we grow spiritually and become “big” in God.

When you have God, you have everything that you need. God wants to use you because you love Him, because you trust Him, and because you obey Him. Always remember that even though you feel small, God wants to use you because God uses little things!

God bless you!

  5. My friend Megan sent me to this blog about 2 weeks ago. I hadn’t heard of Pastor Sun Hui East before… (I asked my Mom about her, and she has seen her on TV and says that she likes what Pastor Sun Hui East says).

I like her words, there is a lot of straight forward truth and I can tell she knows the Bible well. Praise God, really good teachers are hard to come by!

  6. Thank you Pastor Sun Hui East for the encouragement today. I needed to hear that I shouldn’t give up my dream. After being dissapointed by people and by my own choices, it’s easy to get angry and bitter. I really don’t want to take that path, I want to have joy and hope for the future. I’ve read in the Bible that Jesus makes “ALL things new”… I want to be part of that!
