“Choose to Receive the Privileges of God” by Pastor Sun Hui East

God’s promises are privileges. There are 32,500 promises, privileges, keys to open the windows of heaven in God’s Word. In order to receive and walk in the privileges that God gives His children, we must be obedient.

Deuteronomy 28:9-12 tells us some of the privileges we can receive through our obedience.

What privileges do we have?
1. authority
2. power
3. faith

Luke 10:17-20 tells us that Jesus has given us the authority to put our enemies under our feet. If we have this authority, then why aren’t we using it? As believers, we should not just watch evil. We also should not call evil good. God has given us His Word and the discernment to know good and evil. If we call evil good, it will bring judgment to our lives and to those around us.

God has given us authority to bring change to this world. He wants His children to be the head. We should not live like the tail. We must use the authority God has given us to open the windows of heaven.

Deuteronomy 28:12-13 tells us that when we obey God that our hands will be blessed. That means that as long as we are use our hands for the glory of God,  whatever we touch should prosper. It should flourish, grow, be good, and be holy.

We must remember, though, that trying to use the authority that God has given us without obedience is like trying to use a credit card that has expired. It will accomplish nothing. Disobedience creates a disconnect between us and God. If you want to walk in the privileges and promises of God, you must live your life the way that He has commanded you to.

We have the authority to stop evil works? John 10:10 tells us what evil works are: stealing, killing, destroying people’s lives and property, breaking the laws of God, trying to destroy God’s people. We have authority over these things, but we must use it. Like a police officer that has a badge, but doesn’t show it, if we don’t step out and use our authority, we will not be able to stop these evil works.

The 2nd privilege we have is power. We have the authority to stop evil works, but we must use the power of God to overcome evil and bring change. Authority and power work together. Moving in the power of God requires your action, work, and discipline.

Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean that you automatically have everything God has in store for you. You must work to see the power of God move in your life.

Your work must be motivated by faith, which is the 3rd privilege that we have. Matthew 18:18 and Exodus 17:10-11 show us that earth and heaven are connected and that the manifestation of God’s power on earth is through His children. Even if God wants to do something powerful on earth, if we don’t move forward with His plan by faith, nothing will happen. God works through His people, through His church.

If you don’t take action, nothing will happen. We must do our part before God can move mightily in our lives, in our families, in our cities, and in our nation.

Having faith is our choice. Not having faith is our choice. Moving in God’s power is our choice. We choose whether we are used by God. We choose whether we are miserable or happy. We choose whether we have success or fail. We must choose to receive the privileges of authority, power, and faith!

God bless you,
